PRIZES FOR PAPERS BY
GRADUATE OR LAW STUDENTS

$1000 - FIRST PLACE

$500 - SECOND PLACE

$300 - THIRD PLACE

The TPRC is an annual forum for dialogue among scholars and decision-makers from the public and private sectors engaged in communication and information policy. The purpose of the conference is to acquaint policymakers with the best of recent research and to familiarize researchers with the knowledge needs of policymakers and industry. The TPRC program is assembled from submitted abstracts, invited papers and proposals for complete sessions.

The TPRC offers this award to support and encourage excellence in telecommunications research at the graduate level. The competition is open to all individuals who were graduate or law students on October 1, 2001 (thus, "first-year" faculty members and industry and government professionals may be eligible). Papers may be based on research undertaken for a master’s thesis, for a Ph.D. dissertation or for other supervised analytical writing.

The award recipients will be invited to attend (and may be asked to present their paper) at the Conference to be held September 28-30, 2002 in Alexandria, Virginia.

All submissions should be double-spaced and no longer than 30 pages.  Papers must be submitted via the TPRC web site.  The site contains a form that you can use to submit your information and instructions for submitting your nomination letter.  All submissions are due by March 29, 2002 - no papers will be accepted after this date.
